Job Title: Import Export Manager for Japan
We are a leading chemical company seeking an experienced Import Export Manager for our Japan operations. As part of our Global Business Service unit, you will be responsible for managing import and export operations, leading logistics service providers, and ensuring compliance with global policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage import and export operations targets, performance, and deliverables.
- Lead logistics service providers (LSP) and lead logistics provider (LLP) in Japan.
- Develop and implement logistics solutions and provide subject matter advice to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with country Supply Chain Caretaker on operational matters and regional shipping management.
- Monitor master data and participate in global and regional projects.
Operation Vendor Management (LLP/LSP):
- Manage service provider (LLP/3PL) service requirements, change management, knowledge transfer, and contract adherence.
- Improve overall Import / Export management, carrier, and service provider operations.
- Risk management of LLP/3PL partnership and overall transport management.
- Cost management of LLP/LSP services.
Operational Management:
- Monitor logistics functional costs and expenses in line with the budget.
- Ensure compliance with new business or customer logistics service support and solution.
- Identify measures to improve Import/Export process efficiency and operational costs.
- Maintain effective collaboration and engagement with country business and operational teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration or equivalent, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant degree.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management, Customs & Foreign Trade, Logistics, Freight/carrier management in Multinational Company with international exposure.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Supply chain management / operational logistics knowledge, Customs and International trade knowledge preferred, SAP experience preferred, Business Intelligence Tools.
The estimated salary for this position is approximately $100,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
