We empower organizations to drive positive change with geospatial tools. This project equips nonprofits and public benefit organizations with the knowledge and resources needed to visualize their cause and tell their story.
This role requires an exceptional professional who can excel in outreach and operations, leveraging business development and relationship-building skills to identify and communicate mutually beneficial opportunities to partners and Google.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and collate geographic data from approved sources for use on Google Maps through the Geo Data Upload Tool.
- Communicate Google's geo mission to authoritative entities, engaging potential partners to share base map data for inclusion on Maps, primarily through promotion of the Geo Data Upload (GDU) Tool.
- Liaise between external partners and Google stakeholder teams to convey requirements, validate data, coordinate, and communicate updates about fixes/edits, etc.
- Report details of outreach and operational issues to the GDO Outreach Operations Lead and manage project status, insights re: partner expectations, user journeys, motivations & challenges, data gaps, outreach best practices, etc.
- Manage and track all data submissions with GDO operations teams and various external partners.
- Update information in internal planning tools and platforms as required, including logging and tracking all research, outreach, rejections, resulting submissions, etc.
- Document deliverables, such as # of partners contacted/onboarded, # of open data sources identified or data sets submitted/ ingested, # of edits made originating from outreached sources.
- Address and resolve external partner queries associated with the project.
- Troubleshoot process and operational issues reported by authoritative data sources; develop a deep understanding of data formats, structures, etc.
- Manage data pipeline from receiving the data captured by Partners to the creation of launch schedules, ensuring highest quality of captured data as outlined in the Operational Guidelines.
- Utilize Google and non-Google owned tools to engage with new Partners and track communications.
Requirements
Experience: 0-1 year working in digital/technology companies with tech products.
Core Competencies: Business Development, B2B partnerships/sales, customer service, experience working in digital/technology companies with tech products, expertise in Salesforce.com; Google Drive, knowledge in Geographic Information System tools, excellent communication skills in local language and English.
Language: Business Level Japanese and Business Level English.
Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and qualifications.
