About the Role
We are looking for an HR/GA Generalist to support our Tokyo office and serve as a key partner in creating a smooth, compliant and people-focused workplace. This position blends HR operations, employee experience, office administration and IT coordination. You will work closely with local leadership and collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure that our people processes run effectively and that the office operates at a high professional standard.
You will play a central role in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation support and the localization of global HR programs. On the GA side, you will manage day-to-day office administration, facilities, travel arrangements and basic IT support, acting as the bridge between the Japan office and global corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage job postings, resume screening and candidate interviews.
- Coordinate with recruitment agencies.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation sessions.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment cycle.
Employee Development & Relations
- Support and improve the performance management process.
- Identify training needs and assist with the annual Learning & Development plan.
- Help implement organizational and HR system changes.
- Promote healthy employee relations and consult with external HR advisors when needed.
Payroll Preparation & Data Accuracy
- Collect and verify final attendance data, including overtime.
- Prepare accurate data for payroll processing with the labor consultant.
- Conduct annual labor cost comparisons when required.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
- Support updates to company rules, compensation and benefits programs.
- Localize and implement global HR systems and evaluation frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal regulations.
General Affairs & IT Coordination
Office & Facility Management
- Maintain overall office condition, supplies and light plant care.
- Work with the building management office on facilities and equipment.
- Support daily office operations to ensure a safe, efficient workplace.
Administrative & Corporate Documentation
- Manage contracts and corporate documentation, including Board-related filings (Toki).
- Arrange domestic and international travel.
- Oversee business card orders and visitor reception.
- Handle calls and general front-office duties.
IT Support & Device Management
- Set up computers and devices for new employees.
- Provide basic troubleshooting (system use, blue screens, connectivity issues).
- Manage local systems such as printers and attendance tools.
- Work with global IT on system migrations and upgrades.
- Track and manage IT assets and devices.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of HR/GA generalist experience in a corporate environment.
Skills
- Native or near-native Japanese, with business-level English.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data and reporting.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.

Position Details
Location:
Tokyo Office (Hulic Ginza Itchome Showa Dori Bldg 6F, Ginza, Chuo-ku).
Work Hours:
9:30–18:00, Monday to Fridays.
Salary:
4,000,000–5,000,000 JPY annually (based on experience).
Start Date:
Immediate.
Other Notes:
- 6-month probation period.
- Occasional business trips to Osaka and overseas.
Minimal overtime/holiday work (approx. 1–2 times per year).
