Senior Industrial Sales and Business Development Manager, Japan

We are assisting our client, a leading global semiconductor company, in strengthening its industrial business in Japan.

The company develops high-performance connectivity chipsets for professional audio-visual and automotive industries, as well as industrial automation, machine vision, and embedded systems.

Their award-winning technology enables long-reach, high-speed data and video transmission and is integrated into products used by top-tier OEMs and system integrators worldwide.

The company operates globally, with offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

About the Role
In this role, you will build and lead the company's industrial business in Japan from the ground up. You will operate as a senior individual contributor, driving full-cycle sales, including prospecting, pipeline development, negotiation, and deal closing.


Reporting directly to the General Manager of Japan, you will focus on acquiring new customers, establishing key partnerships, and expanding the industrial segment across sectors such as industrial automation, machine vision, factory automation, robotics, and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the industrial segment in Japan.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and key accounts.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, presenting solutions, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and industrial manufacturers.
  • Participate in industry events and networking activities to promote the company's industrial solutions.
  • Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to headquarters for strategic planning.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business reports.
  • Act as the main point of contact for local customers and coordinate with technical teams to address requirements.
  • Facilitate product presentations, demos, and training sessions tailored to industrial customers.

Requirements:

  • MUST: 10+ years of experience in sales or business development within industrial technology or semiconductor sectors.
  • MUST: Proven experience in full-cycle sales, including new business development and account management.
  • MUST: Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, or semiconductor manufacturers.
  • MUST: Technical aptitude to understand and explain complex connectivity architectures, including signal integrity, bandwidth, latency, and cable length trade-offs.
  • MUST: Proficiency in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking).
  • B.Sc. in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong self-motivation, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate independently in a greenfield market.
  • Capable of bridging customer technical requirements and business strategy to drive design-in / design-win activities.
