This position plays a critical leadership role in driving business growth in this dynamic sector and maximizing the value of our operations in the Japanese market.
As the Head of the local Business Field (BF), you will be responsible for the overall business leadership, including strategy development, execution, organizational management, and full P&L accountability.
You will drive growth in the Japanese market while collaborating closely with global and regional teams to maximize business value.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Strategy Development & Execution
Develop and execute the local BF strategy aligned with TÜV Rheinland's global strategy (TR+) and regional priorities.
Formulate mid- to long-term business plans based on market trends, regulatory developments, and customer needs.
Lead portfolio optimization, including the development of new services, enhancement of existing services, and strategic review of offerings to align with market demands.
P&L OwnershipTake responsibility for revenue, cost, and EBIT performance.
Collaborate with Area Sales Managers to drive sales and pricing strategies.
Make executive decisions regarding investments, resource allocation (e.g., personnel, technology, and infrastructure), and business risk management.
Organizational Leadership & People Management
Provide both technical and disciplinary leadership to BF team members.
Strengthen organizational capabilities, develop successors, and maximize team performance.
Foster a strong team culture and lead a diverse workforce effectively.
Global Collaboration & Technical Excellence
Work closely with global BF teams, headquarters, and regional units to ensure service consistency.
Lead the implementation of technical requirements based on relevant accreditation standards.
Leverage domestic and international technical expertise to build a competitive service delivery structure.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines and policies.
Oversee the implementation and operation of quality management, IT tools, and business processes.

Experience & Further Qualifications
5–10 years of relevant professional experience (Proven experience or in-depth knowledge in the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) industry)
Proven experience as a business leader with full P&L responsibility
Strong project management background
Experience working in multicultural environments
Advanced business-level Japanese proficiency
English proficiency at B1 (Intermediate) or higher
Ⅰndustry experience in electrical/electronic products, testing & certification, or manufacturing is preferred
