Sales Manager, Wholesale Distributor Channel - Mobility Aftermarket Japan

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager to lead our Wholesale Distributor Channel within the Mobility Aftermarket division in Japan.
This critical role will be responsible for driving significant growth through our wholesale partners, expanding our market reach, and fostering strong relationships across the entire value chain.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Japanese Independent Aftermarket (IAM) and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, while also contributing to our strategic objectives around efficiency and sustainability.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Channel Management:
Lead and manage a team of 5+ sales associates, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure individual and team success.
Wholesale Business Development:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to grow existing business with current wholesale distributors, identifying and implementing initiatives to increase product penetration and market share.
New Product Introduction:
Drive the successful launch and adoption of new products within the wholesale channel, working closely with product management and marketing teams.
Channel Expansion:
Proactively identify, evaluate, and onboard new wholesale partners to expand our distribution network and reach untapped market segments.
Integrated Sales Approach:
Field Sales Coordination:
Collaborate closely with the Field Sales Team to create pull demand for our products at the workshop level, ensuring alignment and maximizing sales opportunities through wholesalers.
Workshop Team Collaboration:
Partner with the Workshop Team to actively expand the Bosch Car Service network and promote the Module Workshop Bosch Aftermarket concept, leveraging wholesale channels for growth.
ESI Workshop Acquisition (Diagnostic Amplifier Project): Take aggressive ownership of acquiring new ESI workshop subscriptions as part of the Diagnostic Amplifier Project, demonstrating a strong drive to achieve ambitious acquisition targets.
Customer Business Model Optimization:
Actively work to streamline the customer business model in collaboration with wholesale partners, focusing on creating synergies with logistics, warehouse operations, and supporting our environment-friendly policies.
This includes identifying opportunities for efficient inventory management, optimized delivery routes, and promoting sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.Reporting and Analysis:
Provide regular and comprehensive reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to the General Manager of IAM.
Stakeholder Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including wholesale distributors, workshop owners, and industry associations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Foster effective collaboration with various internal functions, including Product Management, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, and Sustainability teams, to ensure seamless execution and support for sales initiatives.
Reporting Line:
This role reports directly to the General Manager of Independent Aftermarket (IAM).

Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of progressive sales experience in the Automotive Aftermarket industry, with a significant focus on wholesale channel management.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that result in significant market share growth.
Direct experience working with wholesale distributors in Japan.
Market Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) in Japan, including market dynamics, competitive landscape, and key players.
Communication & Collaboration:
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking:
Ability to understand and integrate broader business objectives, such as logistics efficiency and environmental sustainability, into sales strategies.
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is essential.
Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is strongly recommended for effective international communication and reporting.
Sales Acumen:
Demonstrated ability to interface directly with workshop owners and understand their needs.
Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
High level of ambition, self-motivation, and a relentless drive to achieve and exceed ambitious growth targets.
Technical Aptitude:
Understanding of automotive diagnostics and workshop concepts is a plus.
Travel:
Ability to travel frequently within Japan to meet with distributors and workshops.
