The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a strategic advisor to business leaders in Japan, aligning people strategies with organizational goals. This role requires expertise in Japanese labor law, cross-cultural communication, and the ability to drive HR initiatives that foster employee engagement, compliance, and organizational performance
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR partnership: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Talent management: Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development programs.
- Employee relations: Ensure compliance with Japanese labor law, manage employee relations cases, and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Performance management: Drive performance review processes, coach managers, and support continuous feedback culture.
- Change management: Support organizational transformation initiatives, including restructuring and cultural integration.
- Learning & development: Partner with managers to identify training needs and deliver development programs.
- HR operations: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and benefits processes in alignment with local regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years in HR, with at least 3 years in a business partner role; experience in multinational environments is highly valued.
- Legal knowledge: Strong understanding of Japanese employment law and HR compliance.
- Languages: Fluency in Japanese and English; additional Asian languages are a plus.
- Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.
