About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled English language educator to join our team in Kawasaki, Japan. As an English Language Educator, you will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring quality teaching and effective learning of English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English language lessons that meet the needs of different customer groups, taking into account individual learning styles.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students' performance throughout the course, actively promoting learner autonomy and a sense of progress.
- Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials, and related services, to meet students' needs by working as a member of the teaching team.
- Assist the teaching center team in delivering excellent customer service and upholding British Council Values and Behaviours.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (in any discipline)
- Cambridge CELTA or Trinity certificate TESOL
- 2 years post-certificate experience
- Experience teaching Japanese learners is desirable
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from ¥4,484 per hour for teachers with a CELTA to ¥4,993 per hour for those with a DELTA. You will also receive a commuting allowance based on your actual commuting cost, up to a maximum of ¥30,000 per month. The location is Kawasaki, Japan, and the start date is expected to be around January 2025. The contract duration is 12 months, with a fixed-term contract type.
Additional Information:
- This role is open only to applicants who currently have permission to live and work in Japan.
- Your salary is a gross salary subject to local taxes and statutory deductions.
- You are responsible for accounting directly for any tax or other sums due in respect of your salary in accordance with Japanese laws and regulations.
