Amazon Japan Consumer Business Department is seeking a Research Specialist to support the growth and expansion of Amazon Vendor Service (AVS). AVS provides services to Amazon's important business partners, vendors/manufacturers, to enhance their growth and satisfaction on Amazon. The Research Specialist will operate "Amazon Customer Voice Research Service" and lead speedy business expansion. By conveying customer insights to manufacturers, the Research Specialist will contribute to the growth of manufacturers' businesses and the realization of Amazon's Customer Centric vision. The Research Specialist's duties have two priorities: improving manufacturers' service satisfaction and continuously improving the productivity, business, and customer experience of the AVS team. The Research Specialist will collaborate with Brand Specialists and Vendor Managers to understand the needs and direction of assigned manufacturers. The Research Specialist will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including service design, efficiency improvement, and new service planning. The Research Specialist will utilize Amazon's strengths in e-commerce business and close relationships with manufacturers and customers to create "Amazon-only" research services. The Research Specialist will work closely with stakeholders to design, collect, analyze, and report quantitative research. The Research Specialist will analyze Amazon customer and purchase data to contribute to the strategic planning of manufacturers and Amazon Consumer Business Department. The Research Specialist will improve and optimize research services based on customer and manufacturer feedback. The Research Specialist will develop new research services. The Research Specialist will have high-level research skills, output skills, strategic thinking, communication skills, perseverance, and innovative thinking. The Research Specialist will be able to collect market and consumer information, build hypotheses, and execute research design and analysis with speed. The Research Specialist will be able to express complex and large amounts of data in a concise and visual manner. The Research Specialist will be able to analyze various industries and manufacturers' needs and challenges and make strategic proposals. The Research Specialist will be able to communicate with various stakeholders, both inside and outside the company, and facilitate smooth communication. The Research Specialist will be able to find meaning in their work and promote projects with a positive attitude even in difficult situations. The Research Specialist will be able to generate innovative and creative ideas for new service expansion. The Research Specialist will be able to explore market changes and customer insights with enthusiasm. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Tokyo, Japan. The basic qualifications include 3+ years of experience in marketing research companies or businesses, quantitative research experience, and experience in data analysis and proposal/action connection. Preferred qualifications include native-level Japanese language skills, business-level English language skills, and experience in management consulting, investment banking, brand management, financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning and allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation, or supply chain.
