業務詳細

本ポジションにおける業務内容の詳細は、主に以下の2つです。

  • 「LINE」アプリ、「LINE公式アカウント」、「LINEスタンプ」など、LINEが提供するサービス全般のタイ語ローカライズ 対象は、主にUI(ユーザーインターフェース)です。ユーザビリティに重点をおいて訳す・書くことが求められます。 タイには約5,600万人の「LINE」アプリのユーザーが存在し、そのうち90%以上が「タイ語」のUIを使っています。ビジネスとしても、タイの社会的なプラットフォームとしても非常に重要な役割があります。タイ語のUIを使う方に正確でわかりやすい情報を伝えることがミッションであり、自分が翻訳した文章が多くのユーザーの目に触れ、サービス体験を向上させる大きなやりがいがあります。
  • ノウハウの文書化 後述のように、チームでは「安定したパフォーマンス」も重視しています。 「書く」仕事は個人差が出やすいものですが、当チームではノウハウの文書化や共通のガイドライン作成を行い、「チームの連携」で品質を高めています。チーム全体で知見を蓄積・共有していくプロセスが醍醐味です。

なお、翻訳作業においては翻訳支援ツールを使用しており、翻訳メモリやTerminologyのメンテナンスも必要になります。

「LINE」アプリは13年以上続いているサービスであるため、数多くのUIテキストがあります。

既存の用語や使用例との整合性を確認し、一貫したUIテキストを提供できるよう努めています。

「自分で調べる」「わからない時は質問する」という2つのことは、日常的に必要になります。

また、常に多数のプロジェクトが並行して動いているため、UI文言の翻訳からアウトソース先との連携、プロジェクト管理など幅広いスキルを同時に磨くことができます。

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include The Following Two Tasks

  • Thai localization of LINE services such as the LINE app, LINE Official Account, and Stickers. The content will mainly consist of User Interface (UI) text. The tasks require translation and writing with a focus on usability. There are approximately 56 million LINE app users in Thailand, with over 90% using Thai as the UI language. The Thai localization is crucial, both for us as a business and for the app as a social platform in Thailand. Your mission, which we believe you will find to be rewarding, is to convey information to users accurately and in an easy-to-understand format through the Thai UI. The text you translate will reach many users, improving their experience with our services.
  • Knowledge documentation As detailed below, we value stable performance in our team. The nature of writing tasks is such that there can often be a great degree of variance in the output among individuals. To combat this, we work as a team to document our know-how and produce shared guidelines, increasing the quality of our work through team collaboration. The best and most crucial part of our work can be said to consist of the process of accumulating and sharing knowledge across the entire team.

In addition, since we use Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools in our translation work, the maintenance of translation memory (TM) and Terminology will also form a necessary part of your duties.

As the LINE app has been in operation for over 13 years, there are a lot of UI assets. As a result, we endeavor to check our work against existing terms and usage examples in order to ensure that we produce consistent UI text. Conducting research on your own as well as asking questions when unsure are two crucial habits to develop in this regard. Furthermore, as many different projects are regularly running concurrently, you'll have ample opportunity to develop and polish a wide variety of skills, such as UI text translation, coordination with outsource partners, and project management.

主な業務内容

  • 日本語→タイ語および英語→タイ語の翻訳
  • タイ語のレビュー
  • LQA(ローカライズ後にテスト環境で言語的な観点から品質管理を行います)
  • エラー修正(リリース済みサービスにミスや修正点を見つけた場合は、チケットを作成して問題を修正します)
  • ローカライズに関するノウハウの文書化(用語、スタイル、注意事項、固定表現など)
  • アウトソースの教育
  • Japanese → Thai as well as English → Thai translation
  • Thai review
  • LQA (Language Quality Assurance in a test environment after localization)
  • Error correction (creation of tickets regarding any issues found in released services and fixing of those issues)
  • Documentation of localization knowledge (such as terms, style guidelines, precautions, and standard phrases)
  • Education of outsourcing partners

  • Someone with skill in producing easy-to-understand and user-friendly translations
  • We are looking for someone who doesn't simply translate text word-for word, but can rather accurately ascertain what the author of the original text wants to say, and then convey that accurately in natural-sounding Thai.
  • Someone with good research skills (e.g., ability to independently research terminology and background information to find appropriate expressions)
  • Someone who proactively asks questions and seeks confirmation when there are points of uncertainty
  • Someone who communicates problems and issues with the team as soon as they can in order to come to a solution
  • Someone who is able to flexibly handle multiple projects simultaneously

必要な経験/スキル

  • ネイティブレベルのタイ語スキル
  • 日本語能力試験N1相当の日本語スキル
  • TOEIC 900 / IELTS 7.5 / TOEFL 100 相当の英語スキル(基準スコアに達していなくてもそれ相当のスキルがあれば可。課題選考で判断します。)
  • 2年以上のローカライゼーションまたは翻訳の実務経験(日本語→タイ語、英語→タイ語の両方)
  • 情報をわかりやすくまとめるスキル
  • チームメンバーや社内外の関係者と連携し、スムーズに業務を進めるためのコミュニケーションスキル
  • Native level Thai proficiency
  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1, or an equivalent level of Japanese proficiency
  • TOEIC 900 / IELTS 7.5 / TOEFL 100, or an equivalent level of English proficiency (even if you haven't achieved any of these score benchmarks, you'll still be considered as long as you're deemed to have equivalent ability - this will be determined during the skills test screening stage)
  • 2 or more years of practical experience in localization or translation (both from Japanese to Thai, and from English to Thai)
  • Ability to summarize information clearly
  • Good communication skills, enabling smooth and effective collaboration with team members as well as other internal and external stakeholders
