Job Description

We are seeking a Partnerships Lead to oversee Square Partnerships in Japan. This role involves representing Square's brand in Japan, establishing local partnerships, and engaging with channel partners, integrated product partners, developers, agencies, and technology companies of all sizes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic business development, product management, and closing deals with channel partners and complex partners in Japan. They will also have a deep understanding of API integration maintenance and be able to build relationships with senior business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Japan Partnerships program, including team strategy, hiring, coaching, and ongoing development.
  • Sign new Japan-based channel partners and product partners who complement our ecosystem of products.
  • Develop annual and quarterly plans to increase growth across new partners and partner-attached sellers.
  • Become a Square product expert, able to discuss partnership strategy and platform ecosystem.
  • Set the Japan Partnerships team's strategy and deliver on team goals.
  • Work with Product, Account Management, Support, and Sales teams to identify and engage potential partners.
  • Represent the voice of the Japan partnerships program across Square globally.
  • Source and sign new partners that benefit Japan sellers and promote Square's growth in Japan.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic business development and product management.
  • Experience closing channel partners and working with partner sales teams.
  • Experience closing deals ranging from tactical to strategic and complex partners in Japan.
  • Experience building a partnerships strategy at a high-growth technology or product-driven company in Japan.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple team members.
