Job Title: Product Manager - Intermodal
We are looking for a customer-centric, self-driven product manager who has responsibility for the commercial development and delivery of results to the company for country intermodal product. The purpose is to achieve growth while maximizing profitability and own the product PnL.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for Japan PnL for Intermodal, understanding where gaps and opportunities lie within the PnL from current/past to generate accurate yet ambitious forecasts. They will also manage cost to maximize profitability of the product.
Key Responsibilities:
PnL Responsibility
- Responsible for Japan PnL for Intermodal
- Ability to understand where the gaps and opportunity lie within the PnL from current/past to generate accurate yet ambitious forecast
- Generating concrete actions backed by numbers to realizing goals
- Managing cost to maximizing profitability of the product
Strategy
- Set country strategy for growth and profit optimization for intermodal product
- Articulation of "go to market" strategy for sales, setting clear direction on where to target and how
- Cascading of strategy to sale to ensure materialization of intermodal strategy
- Implement and cascade Global, Regional & Area Product Guidelines within the Area
- Setting up procurement strategy together with procurement to obtain the right amount of capacity at competitive cost
- Develop and execute local sustainability strategy together with corporate affairs
Performance Management
- Monitoring weekly/monthly performance for any upside/downside to forecast to ensure performance is in accordance with the latest forecast
- Review of the monthly PnL to identify top line and bottom line improvement opportunities
- Manage and improve the performance of the Service/Product in the Area in collaboration with operation and procurement
- Engage with overseas sales colleagues to increase sales from overseas controlled accounts
- Drive performance transparency and continuous improvement culture
People/Stakeholder Management
- Coach, motivate and build a high performing team. Lead by example, inspire and energize their team
- Drive a strong community and collaboration across products (lead across functional and organizational boundaries) and Functions
- Build trust from sales teams to execute product strategy
- Manage regional stakeholders by aligning with regional strategies
Requirements:
- Experiences in Ocean and Logistics industry over 5 years
- Understanding of logistics products, solutions, pricing and terminology, Supply Chain development processes in the local market and industry
- Understands the competitive landscape, and can adjust approaches to customers as a result
- Strong presence and ability to communicate, present, consult with decision makers
- Well-developed presentation and negotiating skills
- Performance driven strategic thinking with both short and long-term planning skills
- Strengths in time management with regards to managing multiple objectives and priorities
- Confident in offering consultative recommendations to clients that would results in long-term strategic value, pursuing End to End supply chain partnership
- Customer centric view and Positive mindset
- Fluency in English and Japanese with ability to deliver clear communication on different organizational levels in both written and oral communications
- Suitable for Team work and Collaboration
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
