We are looking for an experienced and driven product marketing manager to lead the growth of the Prime Video member balance in Japan. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Head of Member Growth is responsible for ensuring Prime Video exceeds its financial goals through a focus on the growth and health of its subscriber base. As Head of Member Growth, you will be accountable for Prime Video's customer lifecycle metrics related to acquisition, retention and member value, and will own reporting of these up to global stakeholders. You will drive these metrics through (i) collaborating with global Prime Video product teams to improve the subscription and payment experience for customers in Japan, (ii) working with local Prime Video partnership and lifecycle marketing teams to design and execute bespoke marketing programs, and (iii) influencing the strategies of local Prime and Prime Video product, content and marketing teams. You will also own the Prime Video membership product strategy for Japan, covering developments in plan types, pricing, distribution and payment methods.
This is a highly matrixed role, requiring you to effectively influence other department heads and senior leaders in order to impact your area of accountability. To be successful, you will need to combine sharp business acumen, crystal clear strategic vision, deep understanding of the priorities of other teams, persuasive written and spoken communication, robust backbone to drive commitment in the face of resource constraints, and sound judgment on when to escalate. You will also be required to write business proposals and business requirements documents, so need a strong analytical mind with a keen attention to detail and aptitude for technical discussion. This is an individual contributor role, but has scope for future development into a people manager role.
Key job responsibilities
As the Head of Member Growth, your primary objective is to grow the Prime Video member balance. To that end, your key responsibilities will be to:
• Dive deep into customer lifecycle metrics related to acquisition, retention and member value, to explain performance against monthly and quarterly goals for these metrics, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Review consumer and competitor data to identify current and future customer needs.
• Develop a framework for how to impact each KPI covering product, content and marketing, and build a multi-year program of initiatives.
• Define a roadmap for payment and subscription product improvements, submit the business case for each to the relevant product teams, advocate for their prioritization and provide local support their implementation.
• Write PR/FAQ (business proposals) and Business Requirements Documents for major new product proposals, and engage internal partner teams to drive buy-in.
• Provide strategic direction to local Prime Video partnership marketing and lifecycle marketing managers as they develop their own roadmaps.
• Build a strong relationship with local Prime product and marketing teams, to ensure Prime Video's interests are represented and to drive strategic alignment. Own reporting of Prime Video business performance to Prime stakeholders, and represent Prime Video in Prime business reviews and planning sessions. Co-own the development of programs to encourage Prime Video members to discover other Amazon businesses.
• Ensure local Prime Video content and marketing teams are optimizing their strategies towards Prime Video member growth.
• Share best practices with and learn from colleagues in similar roles around the world.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of high-tech or CPG companies experience- Fluent in spoken and written English, able to confidently communicate complex issues in a simple manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working cross-functionally across marketing, product management, analytics, UX, and research- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience in customer lifecycle marketing or partner marketing management
- Experience in consumer electronics or technology sector
