An established, growth-oriented real estate investment manager with an active fund platform in Asia is seeking a commercially minded acquisitions professional to join its Japan team. The team executes core-plus and value-add asset strategies across various asset classes and works closely with regional investment and asset management teams.
The role — what you'll do
- Support the senior members of the Investment team with underwriting and executing asset acquisition and divestment opportunities across Japan.
- Lead financial valuations, feasibility analysis and detailed underwriting for opportunities.
- Prepare clear investment papers, pitch materials and investment committee packs; support Q&A.
- Conduct market research, transaction monitoring and maintain broker/owner pipelines.
- Coordinate and oversee due diligence (commercial, legal, tax, technical) and liaise with external advisers.
- Contribute to asset-level business plans, budgeting and vendor selection for leasing/due diligence providers.
- Maintain accurate transaction and portfolio data in internal systems.
About you — skills & experience
- At least 3 years of working experience in Japanese real estate markets (investment, development, investment banking or advisory) — deal execution experience is essential.
- Strong technical modelling and valuation skills; confident preparing investment memos and presentations.
- High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Argus Enterprise is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Japanese (day-to-day collaboration with regional and global teams).
- Commercial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
- Team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
