Role OverviewAs Country Manager, Japan, you will lead Streamax's business development, operations, and overall market strategy in Japan.
This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the APAC Regional Head, with full responsibility for market growth, P&L, partner ecosystem development, and team leadership in Japan.
You will serve as the key bridge between the global organization and the Japanese market, shaping the long-term growth trajectory of Streamax in the region.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute Streamax's business and go-to-market strategy for Japan to achieve sustained growth and profitability.
Build and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, system integrators, and fleet operators.
Identify customer needs and deliver customized video telematics and AI-driven safety solutions.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Japan team, driving both business performance and professional growth.
Strengthen Streamax's brand awareness in Japan through marketing, events, and government or industry engagement.
Ensure full alignment between Japan's local operations and Streamax's regional and global strategic directions.
Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Japan (e.g., Japanese citizenship or permanent residency).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Japan, including 5+ years in team or business leadership roles.
Cultural Agility:
Deep understanding of Japanese business culture, capable of integrating Streamax's corporate values with Japanese business practices.
Language:
Bilingual proficiency — fluent in Japanese, and fluent in English or Chinese for business communication.
Leadership:
Inspirational leader who empowers and guides teams, especially through challenges, and acts as a role model in embodying company values.
Mindset:
Open to change, adaptable to challenges, and continuously learning in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering, technical, or automotive background is a strong plus.
Proven experience in value-based / consultative solution sales.
Deep network or prior experience in commercial vehicle, OEM / Tier-1, or fleet management industries.
Experience launching or scaling new business units or subsidiaries in Japan.
Multinational collaboration experience with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
