**Vice President - Capital Advisory (Japan Market Lead)

About the Firm:**
A global capital advisory firm is seeking a seasoned Vice President to lead its institutional investor coverage and strategic fundraising initiatives in Japan. The firm offers strategic advisory and capital raising services to real estate-focused sponsors and investors across global markets. With a strong international presence, it is recognized for its expertise in private M&A, recapitalizations, and fund placements.
Role Overview:
This is a senior-level opportunity to take ownership of the firm's Japan market strategy, working closely with global and regional teams to drive capital formation and advisory mandates. The ideal candidate will bring deep relationships across Japanese institutional investors and a strong understanding of real estate private equity and fund structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Japan-focused investor coverage and fundraising initiatives across real estate investment strategies.
- Manage end-to-end marketing processes, including investor outreach, meeting coordination, onboarding, and due diligence.
- Build and maintain roadshow calendars, track engagement, and manage CRM data (e.g., Salesforce).
- Conduct market research using platforms such as Preqin, IREI, INREV, and local publications to identify investor trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with project management teams to deliver investor materials (RFPs, DDQs, presentations).
- Serve as the day-to-day lead on transactions including M&A, recapitalizations, and fund placements.
- Oversee financial analysis, underwriting, and preparation of marketing materials such as CIMs and pitchbooks.
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning for the Japan market.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, fund placement, or institutional capital raising.
- Strong network and proven track record with Japanese institutional investors.
- Deep understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and real estate investment structures.
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams.
