Role Overview
As Deputy Director, you will play a pivotal role in building and expanding our advisory practice in Japan. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and global experts to deliver bespoke solutions that mitigate risk and unlock value in M&A transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow the Transaction Advisory Services practice in Japan.
- Build strong relationships with underwriters, banks, law firms, accounting firms, private equity houses, and other stakeholders in the M&A ecosystem.
- Identify and deliver tailored insurance and advisory solutions throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Support clients with insurance due diligence and risk assessment for M&A transactions.
- Drive cross-selling initiatives for complementary solutions such as Cyber, Credit, and Human Capital.
- Manage projects, liaise with clients and advisors, and coordinate internal resources across geographies.
- Promote thought leadership through industry panels, publications, and client education.
- Collaborate on marketing strategies and business development initiatives.
Requirement
- Solid experience in corporate M&A from leading law firms, advisory firms, or multinational corporations.
- Strong legal and financial analysis skills, including the ability to review transaction documents and assess risk.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken), with strong presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Law; CPA or Tax Accountant qualification preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance-related qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong time management skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
