Guidepoint Insights:  
The Insights product is a new offering for Guidepoint's Institutional investment and corporate clients, that offers teleconferences, surveys, and in-person events. The teleconferences live in a transcript library portal, which covers a wide range of industries/topics that enables our clients to make informed decisions. All content features experts from Guidepoint's proprietary global network and is conceptualized and hosted by former investment professionals (i.e., private equity/hedge fund), sell-side equity research analysts, and industry professionals. Play a vital role in Guidepoint Insights' success. 
As a Japanese/English Medical Writer & Transcriptionist on the Insights Healthcare team, you will be responsible for copyediting and translating teleconference transcripts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in addressing business questions and expert responses from medical advisors. You will also play a key role in supporting the launch of the Insights product in the rapidly growing Japan market.

This is a 6-month contract position with the potential to transition into a full-time role.
The position can be a fully remote, but candidates must be based in Japan and have valid authorization to work in Japan.

What You Will Own :

  • Copyedit and translating supporting teleconference media, reviewing and proofreading Japanese and English text for consistency, accuracy, and clarity based on AP style and/or AMA style, in-house style, and fundamental grammatical standards. 
  • Efficiently produce both Japanese and English transcripts from 60-minute Japanese audio recordings within 4 hours using advanced translation tools.
  • Communicate across departments to maintain fluid workflows, ensuring all deadlines are met. 
  • Contribute to developing editorial initiatives, engaging in creative problem-solving with fellow digital editors. 

    • Experience You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, medicine, healthcare or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in translation and/or interpretation within a medical or life science setting.
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese with excellent written English
  • Strong background in medical writing with proven transcription experience.
  • Ability to produce highly accurate Japanese and English transcriptions, particularly in medical terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable working with digital and collaborative platforms.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adaptability in a multitasking environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills,.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven tools.
