We are seeking a talented Japanese Copywriter to craft compelling brand and marketing materials for our client, a leading global ad tech company specialising in programmatic advertising. Based in Tokyo, you will play a crucial role in shaping their brand voice in Japan, creating original, high-quality content in Japanese while leveraging your fluency in English to collaborate with global and regional teams. This role is specifically for someone with deep experience in media and ad tech, who understands the nuances of the industry and can write with authority and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop original and strategic Japanese-language copy for brand and marketing materials, ensuring clarity, creativity, and alignment with the client's brand voice.
- Collaborate closely with the client's Brand Manager, attending on-site meetings at the client's Tokyo office at least once a week.
- Work alongside marketing, design, and strategy teams to conceptualise and execute campaigns specific to the media and ad tech landscape.
- Translate complex advertising technology concepts into engaging and easy-to-understand content tailored for the Japanese market.
- Maintain consistency in messaging across various platforms, including digital, video, print, and presentations, ensuring it resonates with industry professionals and decision-makers.
- Stay updated on media, technology, and advertising trends to craft relevant and impactful copy.
What We're Looking For
- Japanese speaker with excellent writing skills.
- Fluent in English, capable of understanding briefs and collaborating with global and regional teams, based in London and Singapore.
- 5+ years of copywriting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in media, advertising, or ad tech.
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to develop brand messaging beyond translation.
- Proven ability to write for B2B audiences in the advertising or technology sectors.
- Experience in creating marketing and brand communications—not just editorial or technical writing.
- Ability to work independently while integrating feedback from multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
