Central Operations (CO) serves as the backbone of Amazon Logistics (AMZL), enabling scalable management of our increasingly complex last-mile delivery network.
This role offers an opportunity to support a rapidly evolving part of AMZL, leading the development of best-in-class operations that drive effective, real-time decisions to maximize both customer and driver experiences on the road.
As operations Mgr of Central Routing , you will lead multiple programs to improve the quality of routing, manage contingency responses for emergency situations that impacts associate safety / customer promise , including civil unrest, severe weather, logistics disruptions, and site closures.
You will build and implement processes, systems, and mechanisms to execute the short and mid term operational plans and work with global (NA/EU) teams, you will drive both short-term process improvements and long-term strategic enhancements to improve operator and customer experience , network resilience, and balance tradeoffs.
Additionally, you will lead, coach, and mentor a team of Area Managers and Sr Area Managers and Specialists, fostering positive employee relations and developing leadership talent within the organization.
Key job responsibilities
Lead and oversee the team's execution of routing operations as the primary reference point, working with stakeholders across operations, planning, and upstream teams to drive rapid consensus in ambiguous situations.
Proactively identify and lead process improvement and technology initiatives through quantitative analysis and data-driven decision making to enhance weather management, driving capacity-risk trade-offs with partner teams and optimizing metrics such as offset utilization and cost.
Lead and supervise a team of Area/Sr Area Managers and Specialists to proactively drive programs and manage reactive responses for all AMZL and AMXL contingency eventsMentor, train, and develop teammates to support their career progression and learning
Develop and share best practices across regions with NA, EU CO, and India CO teams

3+ years of employee and performance management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
Enjoys analytical work and using data to provide thought-provoking and workable solutions.
Leader of projects and history of successfully developing others into higher levels of leadership in an organization.
Prior Experience managing external/internal events impacting site operations (MHE failures, adverse weather, volume management issues)
Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
