Business Overview


The Rakuten Group's mission is to "empower people and society through innovation." Domestically and internationally, the Rakuten Group provides over 70 services across a wide range of fields, including internet services such as e-commerce, travel, and digital content; FinTech (financial) services like credit cards, banking, securities, e-money, and smartphone payment apps; mobile services including a mobile carrier business; and even professional sports.

By organically connecting these services around a membership centered on Rakuten members, we have formed a unique "Rakuten Ecosystem" that is unlike any other.

Department Overview


This department is responsible for HR, specifically for the mobile-related business organizations, which is a key focus area for the Rakuten Group.

Approximately 60 members support all aspects of HR (talent management, recruitment, training & development, performance evaluation, labor relations, HRBP).


While collaborating with Rakuten Group headquarters, this environment allows for end-to-end management, from addressing HR challenges specific to the mobile business environment (mobile market, retail store operations, global development environment, and talent composition) to planning and implementing solutions, managing operations, and fostering workplace communication.

The Performance Management Group encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including performance evaluation, succession planning, management development, and enhancing employee engagement.

This allows you to acquire a broad set of skills and knowledge, thereby expanding your career possibilities.

Appealing Aspects of the Position

Through performance evaluation operations, you can be involved in identifying organizational challenges and in planning and executing measures.

For the business to scale, it is crucial to quickly identify potential issues and continuously resolve organizational bottlenecks.

You will proactively support organizational challenges within the performance management domain.

Position Details

Execute succession planning, performance improvement, and management development through evaluation operations.
Design and operate HR systems (performance evaluation and compensation).

Work Environment

Mobile & RTS HR Department (Overall): Approximately 60 members

Talent Management Section:
Approximately 15 members

Mandatory Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

3+ years of practical experience in HR or organizational development.
Experience communicating with management and other senior stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience collaborating in a team and the ability to work with other departments.
Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and new challenges.
Basic Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Business-level Japanese and English proficiency.

Desired Qualifications

Ability to analyze problems and propose/implement effective solutions.
Experience working collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds, including nationality, religion, gender, etc.
