Technical Business Analyst

Summary


Ahead Group is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join a client in the asset management sector. The ideal candidate will bridge business and engineering to enhance and support investment systems, combining business analysis, SQL-driven data work, and Level 2 support to improve reliability, reporting, and stakeholder outcomes.

Responsibilities



• Support investment accounting and related applications

• Triage and resolve user inquiries; log defects and enhancement requests

• Document current workflows in English by interviewing Japanese user groups

• Develop and maintain BI reports and SQL extracts (e.g., book value/yield, market value, credit ratings, asset class breakdown)

• Create functional specifications, data-flow and architecture diagrams

• Execute system testing and keep issues current in Jira

• Coordinate with development, data, and production support teams across regions

Required Skills



• Programming fundamentals and system testing experience

• SQL querying, troubleshooting, data analysis, and data-model understanding

• Business analysis: requirements gathering and functional specification writing

• Ability to create/read data-flow and architecture diagrams; strong documentation skills

• Level 2 application support with independent problem solving

• Language: Fluent Japanese (reading/speaking) and intermediate English (reading/speaking/writing)

Desired Skills



• Experience with SAP TRM/FAM or FICO

• Experience with investment accounting systems and investment data (positions, transactions, market data)

• Excel macro/VBA development and strong Excel proficiency

• Familiarity with Jira and common BI tools
