The role will support the Global Category Lead and Category Managers on major projects and be accountable for
all supply-related aspects for Facilities & Construction and as such, to ensure industry leading value whilst
maintaining alignment with business needs.
The role will have the following core goals:
Work with the Global Category Lead, Category Manager and key Regional/Global Procurement team members to define & execute the Category Strategy
Lead and support sourcing activities for Facilities & Construction category in Japan, with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels
Works closely with key stakeholders (at Tokyo HQ, Tsukuba, Takahagi, Toyama, Yaizu and other related sites both domestic / overseas) to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans

Release RFI, RFP and RFQs and negotiate with existing and new suppliers on sourcing initiatives
Undertake data analysis and engage with internal stakeholders in order to generate ideas and opportunities and ensure the Category strategy and plans are aligned to functional and business targets
Proactively anticipate business needs and find opportunities
Measure and track supplier performance against contract and define budgetary impact (day to day supplier performance tracking is with business)
For all Facilities & Construction categories, deliver a robust implementation to maximize value and drive spend/contract compliance – to also include ongoing monitoring and reduction of maverick spend
Develop and implement sourcing practices for applicable spend categories
Implement both supplier rationalisation programmes and strategies to develop new sources of supply as appropriate to optimize competition
Provide transparent reporting to Business & Procurement leaders in order to clearly track performance and associated Risks/Opportunities

Successful, multi-year track record in Procurement and in-depth understanding of the Category Management process
Negotiation skills or with ability to achieve the optimal commercial solutions whilst maintaining credibility and a long term supplier relationship.
Understanding of legal requirements and risk management within procurement projectsFluent English skill (e.g. TOEIC >850)
