Real Estate Associate
to join their dynamic team. This is a great opportunity for professionals with strong analytical skills and a passion for real estate investing to work on high-impact transactions across various asset classes.
The Associate is responsible for assisting the team with their underwriting and execution efforts, both in the traditional direct real estate and private equity markets. Responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence, market research, preparation of internal roll-up materials, investment committee memoranda, and other ad-hoc assignments as needed. The position will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of various
underwriting and asset management reporting for the platform.
Essential Functions
- Evaluating and modeling cash flows for potential acquisitions
- Providing support in the pricing and execution of live transactions
- Performing thorough data integrity analysis; identifying and resolving relevant data issues that affect pricing
- Conducting historical market research to identify recent performance trends
- Creating slides, charts, and tables for various internal meetings and investment committee presentations
- Assisting with the development of recurring underwriting and asset management reporting
- Monitoring market trends and communicating/distributing findings to the broader team
- Building ad-hoc analysis and preparing high-level research on other new investment initiatives as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Financial modeling and quantitative skills, and the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions
- Strong interest in financial assets, debt structures, and real estate is essential
- Knowledge of accounting and financial statements in order to identify issues or strengths within projects
- Excellent project management, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision,
- High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments, but with the aptitude to maintain a big picture perspective
- Self-starter with the ability to multitask
- Excellent bilingual communication skills in both spoken and written Japanese and English
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related business field preferred Experience
- 3-6 years of experience in a fast-paced principal investor, private equity firm, transactions-oriented investment banking team, or Big 4 transaction advisory/valuation department.
- Hands-on execution experience of either direct real estate, private equity, or debt transactions.
- Progressive work experience in the real estate space is highly desirable
