Who is Wayfarer?
Wayfarer is an innovative hotel operations and travel startup in Japan.

Founded in late 2019, we manage over 400 rooms across our three brands:
Wayfarer, Kabin, and ORI.
Our vision as a company is to brighten life for the next generation of everyday travelers.

This means we build products that expand beyond just a place to stay; we connect travelers to the local community so they can discover more authentic experiences and explore IRL.

We also leverage in-house technology that enables digital touchpoints for superior operating efficiencies and a seamless traveler experience, all without forgetting the human touch and interactions that make travel real.

What does it take?
The Real Estate Acquisition role focuses on sourcing deals and building relationships to expand Wayfarer's footprint across Japan. You will be a front-line representative of Wayfarer in the real estate market.
You have solid experience in real estate transactions, particularly with entire buildings rather than unit-by-unit deals.
You thrive on building long-term relationships and have a strong network of property owners, developers, and brokers
You are a persuasive communicator who understands market incentives and can identify win-win solutions
You have the tenacity to navigate ambiguity and drive deals to closure
You're energized by fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments where initiative is valued

What will you do?
Source off-market hotel and hospitality real estate opportunities across Japan
Build relationships with sellers, brokers, developers, and owners
Represent Wayfarer's brand and vision credibly and creatively
Identify opportunities aligned with Wayfarer's hotel management and operating models
Maintain a steady pipeline of opportunities and keep internal records updated
Coordinate with the Analyst and VP of Real Estate to evaluate and advance leads

Requirements
3+ years of experience in building-level real estate sales (hospitality, commercial, or multi-family)
Fluent in Japanese, with a good command of business English
Existing network in Japan's real estate sector
Organized and self-motivated with a deal-closing mindset
Based in Japan (Tokyo or Osaka preferred)
