About the Role:
EQT Real Estate has an exciting opportunity for an Associate/Senior Associate to join the team and support the firm's investment and asset management of Hospitality related assets. The candidate will assist senior team members in making real estate investment decisions related to acquisitions, asset management and ultimate exit or sales of hospitality related assets across APAC. The position will be based in Japan but will also include transactions across the wider APAC region.
The Associate/Senior Associate will be exposed to all facets of our real estate investment process including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Screening and Industry/Sector Research - collects and summarizes relevant data and information
- Financial Modelling: constructs financial models in coordination with key team members
- Supports due diligence execution and lender negotiations
- Supports production of internal investment documents as well as external presentation materials
- Tracks and updates industry trends/country data and facilitates the preparation/update of house view
Post-Investment:
- Maintains, analyses, compares, and interprets data for tracking
- Supports the transition for DD/Closing to the design and implementation of asset management strategy
- Supports ad hoc value-added projects working with Asset Management and Development team throughout the life of the investment
- Exits: helps support the asset disposition process
Requirement:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant real estate experience, real estate private equity and hospitality related investment strongly preferred
- Well-rounded and strong analytical and transaction experience covering hospitality investments in APAC and Japan specifically, preferred; including but not limited to deal screening, due diligence, deal completion, reporting, asset management, etc
- Technical competencies: possess strong modelling and computer presentation skills, high degree of financial proficiencies and written and verbal communication
- Key competencies including but not limited to strong work ethics, action oriented, perseverance, outstanding problem-solving skills, great at prioritization and time management
- Organised and hard-working: can orchestrate multiple activities at once under pressure in a time efficient manner
- Passionate about real estate investment and hotels more specifically
- Bachelor's degree in real estate or equivalent Master's degree preferred
- Fluent in English and Japanese
