The Opportunity

The Client Solutions Senior Associate/Associate will work closely with the client solutions team. The Senior Associate/Associate will assist in maintaining our Japan-based separate account client relationships and Japan-based product investors. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, be proactive and be able to comfortably interact with clients and prospects. The candidate must also be able to operate in a fast-pace and deadline-driven environment where priorities often change.

Your Responsibilities Will Be To

• Work directly with client solutions managers on separate account client deliverables and special projects.
• Work directly with client solutions managers to prepare presentations to prospective clients. This includes creating responses to RFPs, translation to Japanese of marketing and other materials, coordinating instructions/edits between BD support and other internal teams.
• Meeting with and presenting performance results and market updates to separate account clients and product investors.
• Manage legal documentation process and negotiation to reach the agreement smoothly.
• Work with other departments internally, including FIMS, PMG, legal, accounting, reporting, and other departments to aggregate information needed to help prepare client deliverables.
• Assist in client portfolio development, including maintaining CATS, running horizon models, responding to allocation decisions, and preparing strategic plans.
• Maintain a working knowledge of assigned client portfolios and the investments within these portfolios.
• Coordinate assigned projects and special project work with allocated resources, including junior members of the team.
• Review quarterly reports and financial statements for clients.
• Respond to separate account client questions and special requests, interact with client solutions managers to ensure that the required level of client service is being provided.
• Respond to questions and special requests from product investors, interact with client solutions managers to ensure that the required level of service is being provided.
• Support activities to develop new separate account mandates from existing clients or prospects, including responding to RFP/RFI requests.
• Assisting with the preparation of legal documents related to the separate managed accounts.
• Learn and maintain a working knowledge of HL technology tools to aggregate and present information needed for client deliverables.

Must-haves

Your background will include:

• College degree (B.A., B.S. or B.B.A.)
• 3-10 years of experience in a financial services or asset management role.
• Native level fluency in Japanese. Business Level fluency in English
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team-environment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Capacity to learn, absorb and analyze information quickly
• Candidate should be detail oriented, responsible, and organized
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments/initiatives
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to operate in a high pressure environment

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in private equity or asset management preferred
