Team Segment : Japan Office
This position supports the operation of a video streaming service from a technical perspective.
You will be responsible for handling applications that our company develops and operates for video streaming platform providers, including understanding the technical details of release contents, explaining them to customers, conducting initial technical analysis of issues identified through inquiries and monitoring, providing technical support to team members, and communicating in English with overseas engineers (Taiwan).
While the actual monitoring of video streaming is handled by other team members, this role serves as the technical pillar that supports and leads cases requiring technical judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and explain technical items and specifications during video streaming application releases
- Perform initial analysis of issues and support technical decision-making for inquiries and problems reported by monitoring members or customers
- Communicate in English with the Taiwan engineering team and PMs (sharing issue details, requesting investigations, consolidating responses)
- Communicate with Japan-based development PMs
- Provide technical advice and share knowledge with team members
- Improve release checklists and existing operational workflows
- Handle minor operational tasks (such as checking data using user behavior analytics tools and conducting reproduction tests)
Requirements:
- Basic technical understanding of mobile applications or web services (e.g., APIs, logs, HTTP communication, and application behavior fundamentals)
- Ability to read, understand, and handle technical inquiries and tickets
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- English reading and writing skills (for chat and ticket-based communication with overseas engineers)
Nice to Have:
- Experience in development or operations related to video streaming, video processing, or streaming technologies
- Experience in QA, operations, technical support, or help desk roles
- Knowledge of application release processes
- Understanding of development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
- Familiarity with AWS and/or video streaming platforms
- Experience using ticket management tools such as JIRA or Zendesk
- Language skills in English and/or Chinese, including experience participating in and explaining topics during meetings
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute solutions
- Logical and structured thinking
- Hands-on experience with overseas video distribution or globally deployed services
