WHO WE ARE

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA's primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Asia/Oceania Office (the A/O Office) will work in close cooperation with stakeholders in their region – in particular, with Governments, National Olympic & Paralympic Committees (NOC/NPCs), International Federations (IFs), Regional Federations, National Anti-Doping (NADOs) and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations (RADOs), WADA accredited Laboratories , as well as Major Event Organizations (MEOs) – to assist in the development of anti-doping programs and provide guidance where required, to ensure quality programs are in place to protect clean sport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide anti-doping guidance and support to stakeholders in the region;
  • Assist in managing the A/O Office projects, activities and key program areas;
  • Support and provide guidance to the Signatories in the region for the World Anti-Doping Code Compliance Monitoring Program, to implement the corrective actions for Compliance;
  • Maintain active contact with the Regional Anti-Doping Organizations (RADOs) and the National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) in the region, and monitor their progress on operations;
  • Prepare, attend and present at relevant meetings and conferences where required;
  • Partner with and support stakeholders including, but not limited to, WADA's Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS), Code Implementation Support Program (CISP) and other tools;
  • Assist the A/O Office Director on Operational Plans and strategic directions;
  • Manage and assist in the coordination of regional anti-doping events, as requested by the A/O Office Director and in collaboration with the Office Coordinator;
  • Participate in WADA interdepartmental working groups or ad hoc projects, as required;
  • Liaise with A/O Office Director, WADA's Headquarters (based in Montreal, Canada) and other WADA Regions for optimal information sharing and alignment with WADA's strategies and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • University degree in management, policy development, politics, law, international relations/ international affairs or another relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of five 5 years of hands-on anti-doping experience, with exposure to an multiple program areas, such as Education, Doping Control, Therapeutic Use Exemptions, Results Management, Privacy Protection, and Intelligence & Investigations;
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including proven experience in planning, communication, reporting, monitoring and evaluation;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in additional languages is an asset;
  • Experience delivering training, facilitating meetings and/or presenting in international forums or professional settings;
  • Knowledge of international sport governance structures and experience working within a global or multicultural environment;
  • Prior experience working for a National Anti-Doping Organization, government, International Federations (sports-related) or Major Event Organization, especially within the region is considered an advantage;
  • Familiarity with ADAMS and/or ADEL is preferred;
  • Strong analytical abilities are highly desirable;

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required;
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet operational needs;
