As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable systems that address complex, real-world challenges in a data-intensive business domain.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, while also taking ownership of architectural decisions and long-term system quality.

Position Responsibilities
Design and develop large-scale, high-availability web and backend systems
Address complex domain challenges such as data asymmetry, workflow digitization, and scalability
Design systems with careful consideration of algorithmic efficiency and data structures
Lead technical discussions on architecture, technology selection, and best practices
Improve system reliability, performance, and development efficiency
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team growth
Take ownership of code quality through reviews, testing, and CI/CD improvements

Overtime exceeding 30 hours is compensated separately
Final compensation is determined based on skills and experience
Qualifications
*Required
Conversational Japanese (mandatory during the hiring process)
5+ years of experience designing, developing, and operating large-scale web or backend systems
Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across teams
Strong understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns
Experience implementing quality-focused development practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD)
Solid knowledge of relational database design (normalization, indexing) and scalability considerations

Experience leading multiple engineers or technical initiatives
Experience launching new products or services from scratch (0→1)
Long-term ownership of a single product with continuous improvements
Mid-to-long-term technical decision-making experience
Hands-on exploration and production adoption of new technologies

3 days in office / 2 days remote (in principle)
