Rakuten Group, Inc. has almost 100 million customers based in Japan and 1 billion globally as well, providing more than 70 services in a variety such as e-commerce, payment services, financial services, telecommunication, media, sports, etc.
Department Overview
Up until now, Rakuten has expanded its business scale centered on the shopping mall business "Rakuten Ichiba" and the credit card business "Rakuten Card," and has grown to sales of 800 billion yen and total domestic distribution of 8.8 trillion yen. In the future, Rakuten will make the most of the assets such as "Rakuten members," "Rakuten points," "brand power," and "member data" that it has cultivated mainly online, and will be stronger, including living offline. We have a vision of creating a new business model that establishes the "Rakuten Economic Zone."
Among them, the Platform Business Strategy Management Department is an organization under the direct control of the COO and Vice President, and is working on the promotion of ecosystem growth strategies and measures centered on marketing across the Rakuten Group.

Why We Hire
Growth of the entire ecosystem cannot be achieved by simply extending the optimization of individual businesses and services. Also, as Rakuten's ecosystem is huge and special, its growth and competition strategy will have to become new and dynamic. Therefore, while discussing directly with the president and vice president, we are constantly creating strategies to solve complex simultaneous equations of company-wide growth and individual business growth.
The team is a small number of elite teams centered on people from strategic consulting firms, and mixes logical (left-brain) approaches such as Rakuten's big data analysis and insight research with intuitive (right-brain) approaches such as design thinking. At the same time, we will create a new strategy.

Position Details
We are looking for people who can contribute to the promotion of business utilizing Rakuten Points, which is issued over 300 billion annually.
You will be responsible for new planning and promotion from the monetization of services that already exist.
Examples of other strategic themes
- Top management proposal for company-wide strategy (marketing strategy, company-wide KPI formulation, etc.)
- Planning of overseas ecosystem strategy
- Planning and development of products and business solutions that utilize Rakuten's huge assets (ID, points, data, etc.)
- Development of a completely new marketing method
- Planning company-wide customer strategy
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 7-8 years of business development experience.
- Experience in launching large-scale services.
- Work experience at a platform operator. (Internet / mobile industry is desirable.)
- Those who can complete from planning to execution
Desired Qualifications:
- Those who are familiar with points and payment business
- Corporate sales experience
