Rakuten group has almost 100 million customers based in Japan and 1 billion globally as well, providing more than 70 services in a variety such as e-commerce, payment services, financial services, telecommunication, media, sports, etc.
Department Overview
Up until now, Rakuten has expanded its business scale centered on the shopping mall business "Rakuten Ichiba" and the credit card business "Rakuten Card," and has grown to sales of 800 billion yen and total domestic distribution of 8.8 trillion yen. In the future, Rakuten will make the most of the assets such as "Rakuten members," "Rakuten points," "brand power," and "member data" that it has cultivated mainly online, and will be stronger, including living offline. We have a vision of creating a new business model that establishes the "Rakuten Economic Zone."
Among them, the Platform Business Strategy Management Department is an organization under the direct control of the COO and Vice President, and is working on the promotion of ecosystem growth strategies and measures centered on marketing across the Rakuten Group.

Position Details
In this job offer, please promote a communication strategy with customers in order to improve Rakuten's brand value.
Specifically, you will lead the entire series of processes from brand strategy planning to communication concept design to content production. Branding targets a wide range from companies called Rakuten to assets such as Rakuten services, Rakuten members, and Rakuten points, so you will have to formulate your own strategy and prioritize it. Depending on the project, the communication channel may utilize mass media such as TV commercials, external media such as social media, or each touch point in Rakuten, which boasts a huge number of visitors.
(Recent concrete project examples: Development of official character "Shopping Panda", planning and promotion of branding CM that appeals to Rakuten Point's No. 1 character, official account management of social media with a total of 50 million fans, corporate branding Strategic planning and content production, etc.)

- Those who can grasp the psychology and emotions of customers and consumers and create businesses from potential needs
- Those who are committed to the results and can realize actionable and high-impact projects
- Those who have the motivation and leadership to envision and evolve the future of society, companies, and organizations
- Brand marketing at a business company or marketing work experience at an advertising agency
- Organization management experience
- Management communication skills (general managers inside and outside the group)
- Insight development ability (from macro / micro, quantitative / qualitative information)
