About the Role:
The Social Commerce Marketing Planner is responsible for driving customer engagement and sales growth through strategic marketing and content initiatives across social commerce platforms.
This role blends creativity, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate our brand presence and performance in emerging digital channels.
What You'll Do:
Budget & Planning:
Manage the marketing budget for social commerce channels, including new year budget creation, forecasting, purchase order management, etc for all direct marketing spends associated with the channels.
Strategy & Execution:
Develop & execute the promotional, advertising & content strategies in partnership with platform vendors, marketing agencies & Ecommerce team.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with associate merch manager to identify key product marketing strategies pre-season. Ensure strong execution of those strategies in-season, working to pivot/course correct based on sales trends. Work with Ecommerce, store operations & field teams to manage & optimize store content creation programs. Establish excellent cross-functional working relationship within the marketing functions & with Ecommerce, store operations & customer service functions.Performance & Optimization:
Analyse campaign performance and customer engagement metrics to optimize ROI and inform future strategies. Support channel sales performance through recommendations for actions, & communication with cross functional partners.
Agency & Vendor Management:
Serve as the primary liaison with marketing agencies and platform partners, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
Champion customer-first content strategies that resonate with key audience segments and reflect our brand values.
Who You Are:
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience in social media or digital marketing.
Strong customer focus & ability to identify & activate different customer segments through marketing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Japanese (verbal and written).
Proactive, flexible working style, with comfort in a matrixed organization with ambiguity.
Experience working cross-functionally to drive alignment and change across teams.
Self-starter with a curious mindset, eager to test, learn, and continuously improve ways of working.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for reporting and analysis.
Language skills:
Native-level Japanese and business-level English (email, documentation, conversation).
Preferred Experience:
English communication skills (TOEIC 800 or equivalent).
Experience managing multiple vendors with a focus on quality and cost effectiveness.
Experience in marketing effectiveness analysis.
Familiarity with social commerce platforms (e.g., LINE Shopping, Instagram Shop).
Understanding of influencer marketing or UGC strategies in Japan.
Strong analytical mindset with experience in campaign performance analysis.
Passion for storytelling and brand building in digital environments.
