Our client, a major international retailer, is seeking a strategic planner to own the top-down sales, margin, and inventory forecasting.
In this pivotal role, you will analyze performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive actionable recommendations to achieve financial targets and optimize inventory health.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Inventory Management, Sales, E-commerce, and Finance partners to align on business drivers and execute plans that maximize profitability.
Forecasting & Leadership Communication:
Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly sales and gross margin forecasts, including risk assessments and opportunity analysis, for senior leadership reviews.
Performance Management:
Monitor daily sales trends to proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect financial goals.
Strategic Analysis:
Perform ad-hoc analytical deep dives to generate insights and build consensus for actions that improve inventory ROI.
Finance Partnership:
Act as the key liaison between the Inventory Management and Finance departments.
Financial Target Setting:
Develop and manage the detailed annual budget and quarterly financial plans (sales, margin, inventory) that align with corporate strategy.
Inventory Plan Stewardship:
Guide the Inventory Management team to ensure operational plans are financially sound through rigorous review and clear goal-setting.
Post-Mortem & Learning:
Deliver comprehensive hindsight analyses for seasons and key events, translating results into actionable learnings for future planning cycles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, forecasting, or business analysis within the Retail or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and influence stakeholders at all levels.Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; aptitude for learning new planning systems quickly.
Full professional proficiency in English. Proficiency in Mandarin and Japanese is highly preferred.
