Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced FP&A Manager for the Japan region who will own and lead the full FP&A charter for our Japan retail operations.
This individual will be the strategic partner to Japan's leadership team, responsible for planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision support.
Based in Tokyo, this role acts as the single point of accountability for Japan's financial planning and analytical rigor, delivering high-quality insights to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning & Forecasting
Build and maintain driver-based financial models reflecting Japan retail dynamics (traffic, conversion, AOV, store productivity, promotions, etc.).
Align with business, operations, and regional finance on key assumptions and risks.
- Performance Management & Reporting
Execute deep-dive variance analyses and highlight actionable insights for leadership.
Develop dashboards and KPIs to enhance visibility and support faster decision-making.
- Business Partnering
Support pricing strategies, promotions, assortment decisions, and new store openings with financial analyses.
Act as the financial advisor in country leadership forums, influencing strategic choices with data-backed recommendations.
- Process Excellence & Systems
Ensure Japan's reporting aligns with regional/global finance standards.
Champion automation and BI tool adoption (Tableau/Power BI/Looker) to elevate data capabilities.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Represent Japan finance in regional/global FP&A discussions, sharing insights and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA/CPA/CFA is an advantage.
7–10 years of FP&A experience, ideally in retail, consumer, or multi-store environments.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a track record of influencing business outcomes.
Proven experience working with Japan market teams; fluency in Japanese and English is essential.
Strong communication skills with an ability to partner with senior leadership.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with BI tools preferred.
