Your Team Responsibilities
The MSCI Global Client Service team is composed of experienced financial professionals that provide first tier support for our institutional clients around the world. Team members are responsible for responding to a wide variety of methodology, usage, interpretational, and technical questions on our line of products and services. Client contact is primarily via email and telephone, but occasional travel may be required for on-site presentations or trainings. The team members work closely with account managers and consultants to develop and maintain client relationships.
Your Key Responsibilities
Deliver Exceptional Client Experiences
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring a premium level of service and rapid resolution of client questions and challenges.
Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of client inquiries related to risk analytics (e.g., VaR, Stress Testing), liquidity risk, credit risk, and more.
Elevate Risk & Analytics Expertise
Provide detailed product guidance, explaining complex risk analytics methodologies and model outputs in a clear, concise manner.
Share relevant product updates and model insights that enable clients to fully harness MSCI's analytics and risk management tools.
Grow Client Relationships
Build trust by proactively following up on issues and anticipating clients' evolving analytics and risk management needs.
- Lead regular update calls with key stakeholders, delivering transparent status reports and recommending advanced features or solutions.
Contribute to service reviews and strategic service plans that reinforce value and drive client retention.
Drive Training & Onboarding
Manage comprehensive client onboarding processes, ensuring new users quickly adopt and maximize the capabilities of MSCI's analytics platforms.
Conduct targeted training sessions on risk methodologies, portfolio performance, and model interpretation to empower clients and deepen product engagement.
Champion Continuous Improvement
Suggest and implement process enhancements that improve client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, channeling feedback to refine and evolve MSCI's analytics offerings.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- A self-starter who is highly motivated, and can work individually and collaboratively.
- Deep understanding of international financial institutions and global financial markets.
- Demonstrates strong analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, and understanding of financial topics, such as: modern portfolio theory, market portfolio construction, optimization, CAPM, multi-factor risk models, financial derivatives' pricing model, market risk, liquidity risk, credit risk, and Value-At-Risk (VAR) and/or statistical topics, such as: probability theory, statistical inference, matrix theory, multivariate analysis, time series analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis; additional programming or data analytics skills are advantageous.
- Exceptional Japanese and English written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to convey technical and analytical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior management. Comfortable leading client discussions, conducting presentations, and cultivating strong relationships.
- Strong organizational skills having the ability to handle multiple projects under tight and short-term deadlines, and keen attention to details.
- Track record of excelling in an environment of ambiguity by quickly adapting behavior and work methods to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work efficiently with diverse cultures on a global team, and knowing when to involve appropriate colleagues in projects regardless of function, geography, and business line
- Ability to develop value-added contributions to both internal and external clients
Desired Experience
- 3–6 years in a related role or industry; direct experience with risk analytics, financial modeling, or client support is a significant advantage.
Desired Qualification
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are a plus.
