Compliance Specialist – Asset Management | Japan
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join our client's asset management business in Tokyo, Japan. This role is key to ensuring my client's business adheres to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local regulations including FSA rules and other applicable laws.
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures specific to asset management activities.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews, risk assessments, and reporting to senior management.
- Provide training and guidance on compliance matters across the organization.
- Liaise with regulators and ensure timely response to regulatory inquiries and inspections.
- Support the integration of compliance frameworks in business processes and product launches.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in compliance within asset management or financial services in Japan.
- Strong understanding of Japanese financial regulations, especially FSA, AML, and related compliance standards.
- Fluent Japanese language skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
