Position Overview
We seek an experienced professional to originate financially motivated reinsurance opportunities and assist in the execution of reinsurance transactions for clients in Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Learn our core GFS product offerings to provide tailored reinsurance solutions for life insurance companies in Japan, addressing their capital and financial needs.
- Assist with managing large asset-intensive reinsurance transactions and other GFS deals, from start to completion, working closely with the Director, Business Development, GFS Japan.
- Develop relationships with RGA stakeholders, including GFS Pricing, Investment Solutions, and Treaty teams, to drive business growth.
- Contribute to developing new reinsurance opportunities in close coordination with client-facing teams in Japan.
- Gain knowledge of the primary insurance market in Japan, focusing on key players, strategies, and products.
- Understand the (re)insurance regulatory environment in Japan, including accounting and capital requirements.
- Foster relationships with consultants, investment banks, and industry bodies in Japan.
- Promote RGA and GFS as a recognized provider of financially motivated reinsurance solutions across Asia Pacific.
Requirements:
- Sound interpersonal skills to effectively manage deal execution with internal and external stakeholders.
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in actuarial, investment, corporate planning, or finance departments in Life Insurance/Reinsurance, consulting firms, or relevant industries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of life insurance, health insurance, and/or annuity products.
- A team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues in Japan and globally.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
- Fluency in Japanese and English.
Estimated Salary: ¥10,000,000 - ¥20,000,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
