The role will be part of a regional compliance function supporting regulatory oversight and day-to-day governance matters across the firm's operations.

You'll play a key role in maintaining compliance excellence, supporting internal stakeholders, and driving a strong culture of ethical conduct.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firm's compliance and AML/CFT framework in Japan
Conduct regular monitoring and reviews, including transaction monitoring, marketing material reviews, and name screening activities
Provide compliance advisory support to business teams on regulatory requirements and company policies
Maintain registers and documentation to track incidents, breaches, and reporting obligations
Assist with regulatory submissions, filings, and responses to external audits or inspections
Support policy updates to reflect evolving regulatory expectations
Promote awareness and best practices through training and communication initiatives
Collaborate closely with global and regional compliance teams on cross-border initiatives
Requirements
Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
7+ years of experience in compliance or AML roles within a regulated financial institution (asset management, brokerage, or retail investment preferred)
Experience in marketing materials review and AML/CFT monitoring is an advantage
Strong understanding of Japan's financial regulatory environment and relevant FSA guidelines
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to educate and influence front-office teams
Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under deadlines in a dynamic environment
