ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for optimizing resource utilization to deliver top-notch transportation and industrial additive technical solutions to customers/OEMs in Japan, meeting their needs and fostering growth in operating income for Lubrizol.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and execute project plans efficiently to secure approvals aligned with industry and OEM standards
- Lead various fundamental knowledge and development projects concurrently to support marketing and sales of automotive driveline, hydraulic, metalworking, grease, and industrial gear products
- Collaborate with Transportation and Industrial product managers and field sales to develop integrated business segment and customer plans for the Japan market
- Coordinate activities related to quality/performance issues or customer complaints for LZ products
- Manage complex projects involving colleagues from various departments/locations from initiation to successful completion
- Independently develop estimates and project scope including objectives, milestones, resources, and economics
- Analyze and interpret data from laboratory and mechanical testing accurately
- Translate business plans and commercial targets into technical projects in collaboration with the commercial team
- Monitor project results and adjust work plans to ensure timely and on-budget delivery
- Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders through timely reporting and presentations
- Enhance technical knowledge to provide solutions as part of a customer-facing value proposition
- Build relationships to establish long-term partnerships with sales and external customers
- Represent Lubrizol at key customer engagements and external professional events
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
Education Background:
- BSc in chemistry or engineering discipline required
Technical Skills:
- Minimum three years of technical experience at Lubrizol or a related company
- Experience with various chemistry areas relevant to transportation or industrial additives/lubricants
Other Experiences Preferred:
- Expertise in lubricant technology for automotive driveline applications and hardware design
- Understanding of industrial lubricants, grease, equipment, and technology
- Project planning, execution, and result achievement in long-term complex projects
- Exceptional communication skills for effective internal and external presentations
- Ability to interact well across all organizational levels and manage multiple demands and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Detail-oriented with a global multi-functional team approach
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
