ACCOUNTABILITY:

Accountable for maximizing utilization of resources to deploy the highest value DL technical solutions at the customer in Japan to meet customer needs and lead to growth in operating income for LZA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate customer/OEM technical needs into technical plan then lead team to implement that project plan in timely, cost-efficient manner;
  • Optimize product platform and complete necessary testing to develop commercialized products for OEM's and oil company customers;
  • Provide general technical support and resolve field issues for assigned customers and OEMs;
  • Build and maintain customer/OEM relationships to deliver products that meet or exceed their expectations and business strategic plans;
  • Work with sales and OEM group to develop customer relationships and communicate customer goals to internal stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicate project status to customer teams and department in assigned project areas;
  • Estimate and develop project plans (scope, objectives, milestones, resources and economics);
  • Complete timely customer reports, data presentations;
  • Accurately collate, interpret, and present data;
  • Develop solutions based on facts, data, and logical assumptions;
  • Work with internal and external test laboratories to ensure sufficient resource allocation for business demands;
  • Represent Lubrizol's interest at industry forums as required;
  • Other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

Education & Professional Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or chemistry preferred
  • Preferred at least 5 years of technical service experience in Chemical industry
  • Work experience within a multinational company is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Sufficient knowledge in Driveline lubricants/additives
  • Technical skills to assist external customers and sales with performance or specification related queries
  • Fluency in oral and written English is essential
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening skills. Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences (internal & external customers)
  • Experience with managing projects and organizing significant volume of work
  • Experience in prioritizing initiatives and managing customers
  • Demonstrates ability to solve technical and process-related problems
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • A good team player, and demonstrates ability to get work done through others and ability to work effectively with other departments and divisions
