Role Summary
We are seeking a
QA Engineer focused on ETL/Data Quality
.
This is
not a Data Engineer role
— it is a
data validation and test-focused
position responsible for ensuring that data pipelines, transformations, and downstream data products meet quality, accuracy, and reliability standards.
You will design and execute data test cases, analyze data flows, validate transformation logic, and help build automated data quality checks.

- English: Business level
- Japanese: Conversational (preferred)
Technical Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on QA experience testing ETL/ELT/data pipelines
- (not only developing them — actual testing & validation)
- Strong SQL
(complex joins, aggregations, profiling, validation) - Experience designing
data-focused test cases
, such as: - Schema validation
- Row-count & reconciliation testing
- Aggregation & transformation validation
- Data quality rules (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
- Experience validating workflows built with ETL/ELT tools
- (e.g., ADF, Glue, dbt, Informatica, Talend, Airflow etc.)
- Understanding of
data lake / data warehouse
architectures
Preferred Qualifications
- Automated data verification using Python or SQL-based frameworks
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD or data-ops pipelines
- Familiarity with data observability tools (e.g., freshness, drift detection)
- Experience with batch + streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute
data-focused test plans and test cases - Validate ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and loading logic
- Write and maintain SQL-based validation scripts
- Detect discrepancies, anomalies, schema drift, and data inconsistencies
- Collaborate with data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring dashboards
- Provide insights into data quality metrics for stakeholders
- Promote data quality best practices across teams
