About the Role:
We are seeking Analysts/Associates (depending on the seniority) to support specific consulting projects with a primary focus on the Japanese market. This role is designed for experienced freelancers with prior consulting exposure who can quickly integrate into project teams and contribute to high-quality deliverables.
The freelancer will work on defined projects only, supporting research, analysis, and client-ready materials under the guidance of project leaders. While the role is remote by default, the individual is expected to act as ARC's on-the-ground presence in Japan when required, representing the firm in client meetings, interviews, or workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
Join and support specific consulting projects focused on Japanese markets, industries, or clients, while collaborating remotely with ARC's Shanghai-based project teams.
- Conduct market and company research, including desktop research, expert interviews, surveys, and data analysis, aligned with project scope.
- Act as ARC's local presence in Japan, participating in client meetings, interviews, or workshops when clients are based in or visiting Japan.
- Analyze findings and synthesize insights into clear, structured outputs for internal and client use.
- Support the creation of client-ready presentation materials and reports that meet ARC's quality standards.
- Follow task guidance from project leaders and communicate progress clearly across remote teams.
- Travel within Japan or internationally may be required on a project-by-project basis, subject to prior agreement.
About the Projects:
- Engagement is project-based, with clearly defined deliverables, timelines, and expectations.
- Role is remote in nature, with intermittent in-person presence in Japan as required by the project.
- Availability, workload, and any travel will be agreed per project, not assumed as full-time.
- High-performing freelancers may be considered for repeat engagements or transition to a permanent analyst/associate role, subject to mutual interest.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree complemented by substantial internship experience in the consulting industry, or an advanced degree is required.
- Quick learner and ability to grow within the fast-paced organization
- Native Japanese Speaker. Excellent command of Business English, full professional proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven presentation skills
- Highly logical and analytical
- Ability to provide and accept frequent feedback
- Availability and willingness to undertake travel as required.
