A global creative and technology group is expanding its Japan leadership team and looking for a Tech Director who sits comfortably between experience design, marketing technology, and engineering delivery. If you enjoy solving complex problems, shaping solutions with clients, and leading cross-disciplinary teams, this is one of the most interesting roles in the market.
The work is a mix of major customer experience transformation, e-commerce enablement, marketing automation, platform integration, and custom application development.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architecture for large-scale digital initiatives across CX, commerce, and marketing transformation.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical approaches, partnering with strategy, UX, data, and creative teams.
- Work directly with clients in Japanese and global organisations to define roadmaps, prioritise features, and set the technical direction.
- Act as a senior advisor to clients on technology choices, platform direction, and digital acceleration.
- Bring clarity, structure, and calm thinking to complex situations.
What We're Looking For
- Business-level English and business-level Japanese
- A background in technical consulting, solution architecture, experience technology, MarTech/CX engineering, or similar hybrid roles.
- Strong understanding of modern customer experience platforms: CMS (AEM, Sitecore, headless), CRM/CDP, marketing automation, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, and integration approaches.
- Experience designing or overseeing solutions in areas like e-commerce, digital experience platforms, data-driven marketing, content personalisation, or custom application builds.
