A global creative and technology group is expanding its Japan leadership team and looking for a Tech Director who sits comfortably between experience design, marketing technology, and engineering delivery.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, shaping solutions with clients, and leading cross-disciplinary teams, this is one of the most interesting roles in the market.
The work is a mix of major customer experience transformation, e-commerce enablement, marketing automation, platform integration, and custom application development.
Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architecture for large-scale digital initiatives across CX, commerce, and marketing transformation.
Translate business requirements into clear technical approaches, partnering with strategy, UX, data, and creative teams.
Work directly with clients in Japanese and global organisations to define roadmaps, prioritise features, and set the technical direction.
Act as a senior advisor to clients on technology choices, platform direction, and digital acceleration.
Bring clarity, structure, and calm thinking to complex situations.
What We're Looking For
Business-level English and business-level Japanese
A background in technical consulting, solution architecture, experience technology, MarTech/CX engineering, or similar hybrid roles.
Strong understanding of modern customer experience platforms: CMS (AEM, Sitecore, headless), CRM/CDP, marketing automation, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, and integration approaches.
Experience designing or overseeing solutions in areas like e-commerce, digital experience platforms, data-driven marketing, content personalisation, or custom application builds.
