1 Hotel Tokyo is preparing to open in Q1 2026, and we're seeking a Director of IT to lead all property technology strategy and operations from pre-opening through launch and beyond.
This is a senior role focused on delivering secure, reliable, guest-forward systems that support hotel performance, team productivity, and a seamless experience across every touchpoint.
The OpportunityYou'll oversee daily operations, systems implementation, cybersecurity, vendor management, budgeting, and service delivery—while ensuring compliance with brand IT policies and industry best practices.
You will collaborate closely with department heads to identify needs, design practical solutions, and deliver cost-effective, scalable technology across the hotel.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute the overall IT strategy in line with business objectives and brand standards
Develop business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and recommendations for IT spend and initiatives
Establish and maintain IT policies and procedures (architecture, security, DR/BCP, standards, purchasing, service delivery)
Oversee deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support for all IT systems (servers, PCs, OS, hardware/software, peripherals)
Manage end-user services including help desk and technical support
Own the IT project portfolio; plan, schedule, and deliver programs and technology implementations
Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and support new technology implementations
Manage IT asset lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory and controls
Benchmark and analyse infrastructure performance; report and recommend improvements and upgrades
Manage IT departmental financials (budgeting, purchasing, review and forecasting)
Oversee system, network, and information security; support audits and investigations as required
Build and maintain vendor/outsourcer relationships; negotiate and administer contracts and service agreements
Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption during incidents or data loss
Lead IT staffing:
recruitment, training, coaching, scheduling, performance management, and development
Required Skills & Capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of hospitality IT operations and how technology supports business goals
Proficiency with Microsoft O365, Active Directory, Azure, and comparable platforms
Strong networking and server experience
Strong analytical, organisational, and people leadership skills
High attention to detail and a structured approach to governance, controls, and service delivery
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (required); Master's degree or MBA (preferred)
Minimum 5 years' experience managing an IT department within Hospitality (leadership level)
Physical Requirements
Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer
Ability to lift up to 8 kg as needed
