Destination Asia Japan is seeking a
Sales Manager (Group Travel)
to oversee our Sales function in Kyoto.
This senior role is pivotal in driving commercial performance, strengthening market positioning, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for leisure groups across Japan.
What You'll Do:
- Lead & Inspire
: Manage Sales Supervisors and Travel Planners, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team culture. - Drive Commercial Success
: Oversee quotations and proposals, ensuring accuracy, profitability, and competitiveness. - Shape Strategy
: Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and yield management to refine pricing and positioning. - Build Relationships
: Act as senior contact for key agents, suppliers, and partners, managing escalations and service recovery. - Ensure Excellence
: Align with Operations teams to deliver seamless group experiences, while upholding compliance and safety standards. - Develop Talent
: Coach, mentor, and implement training programs to grow the next generation of sales professionals.
What We're Looking For
- Experience
: Minimum 4 years in group travel sales, DMC operations, or tour planning; plus 3 years in sales leadership. - Commercial Acumen
: Strong understanding of pricing, yield management, and profitability drivers. - Leadership Skills
: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and manage diverse teams in fast-paced environments. - Analytical Mindset
: Ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies. - Client-Focused
: Skilled in relationship management, problem-solving, and handling escalations with professionalism. - Flexibility
: Willingness to provide on-site support, including outside normal office hours.
