Job Description Snapshot
The main responsibility of the Technical Support Engineer is to utilize their technical expertise to assist customers facing complex issues with SAP Procurement applications.
The Technical Support Engineer excels in customer satisfaction by:
- Utilizing SQL and Java knowledge to troubleshoot and solve issues
- Providing excellent customer service through clear and frequent communication
Roles and Responsibilities
- Offer direct technical support to customers via phone and email
- Handle multiple Service Requests concurrently in a ticketing system
- Keep customers informed about the progress of their requests in a timely manner
- Resolve customer issues through troubleshooting
- Create content for the SAP Procurement User Community and internal knowledge base
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams globally
- Collaborate with customers and Product Engineering to address system defects
- Provide on-call support during evenings and weekends on a rotating basis
- Demonstrate expertise in product functionality and adapt to new features
- Prioritize and resolve emergency situations efficiently
- Complete other assigned duties
Skills
- Proficiency in: Writing SQL queries, Java, JSON, XML, Fiddler, Soap UI, web-browsers, http, security, SSO technologies
- Understanding of business processes such as purchase orders, invoices, vendor management, and supply chain
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric approach
- Ability to handle challenging customer interactions with professionalism
- Proven multitasking abilities and creative problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Cross-cultural competency
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 3 years of experience with web-based software solutions
- Experience with Spend Management Solutions
- Prior experience in technical support or customer service
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or at least 3 years of experience in Support, Software Development, IT, or Quality Assurance
