About The RoleAs a Sales Engineer at Symmetry Systems, you'll be at the forefront of the rapidly growing DSPM segment.
Your mission? Provide technical expertise that helps organizations in Japan modernize their data security strategies by adopting our cutting-edge platform.
You'll work directly with CISOs, security architects, and data protection leaders in Japan to solve their business issues and desired outcomes, then help implement Symmetry's capabilities and integrated value proposition.
You'll drive incremental revenue through large, complex sales opportunities while delivering, managing, and running proof of values (PoVs) and technical demonstrations that showcase how Symmetry's platform mitigates risk and strengthens compliance.
As the technical point of contact, you'll manage internal resources via cross-functional communication, support the sales team, engage with the growing Symmetry Japanese partner channel, and represent the company at marketing events.
This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking and strong relationship-building skills to help organizations modernize their data security strategies.
What You'll DoCraft technical solutions that address enterprise data security challenges specific to Japanese businesses
Deliver compelling demonstrations of Symmetry's DSPM platform adapted for Japanese audiences
Design and execute proof of value (PoV) engagements with Japanese prospects
Translate complex security concepts into business value for Japanese stakeholders
Collaborate with the Japan Account Executives to drive sales opportunities
Provide technical expertise throughout the entire sales cycle with cultural sensitivity
Identify and document Japanese customer requirements and use cases
Build relationships with technical decision-makers at target Japanese accounts
Support partner enablement and channel sales initiatives in the Japanese market
Represent Symmetry at industry events and conferences across Japan
Help adapt product documentation and technical materials for Japanese customers
Bridge communication between Japanese customers and US-based product teams
What We're Looking For
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales or sales engineering, preferably in the data security or technology industry
Demonstrated success in supporting enterprise data security solutions sales and achieving technical win rates
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with technical decision-makers at all levels within Japanese organizations
Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to understand customer requirements and architect effective technical solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to present and articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively
Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate security concepts related to data protection solutions
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of data security architectures
Familiarity with Japanese data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
Willingness to travel throughout Japan to meet with clients and attend industry events
