. The role involves supporting data centre projects from planning through implementation and close-out. The role works closely with the Data Centre Project, Design & Implementation function and involves coordination across internal technology teams and external service providers.
This position is project-focused and operational in nature, with responsibilities covering vendor coordination, documentation, onsite activities, and support for physical infrastructure work within data centre environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support project delivery and ensure agreed timelines are met.
- Gather and consolidate technical and operational requirements from various internal teams.
- Support structured cabling planning for data centre and server room environments and work with vendors during execution.
- Assist with procurement activities, including requesting quotations, reviewing vendor proposals, securing internal approvals, and raising purchase requests through internal systems.
- Track orders to ensure timely delivery, installation, and payment processing.
- Coordinate project-related activities such as site access arrangements, equipment delivery, and installation scheduling.
- Provide onsite support during installations and conduct physical checks to validate work quality where required.
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, and records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Update asset and inventory information using DCIM tools such as Nlyte.
- Perform additional project support tasks as assigned by the Data Centre project lead.
Required Skills & Experience:
- At least
3–4 years
of hands-on Data Centre experience working in Data Centre environments. - Practical experience operating within Data Centre or server room (DC/SR) facilities.
- Familiarity with escorting and supervising work carried out by other technology teams within DC/SR environments.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure supporting data centres.
- Basic awareness of operational and project-related risk management.
- Foundational knowledge of structured cabling standards and practices within data centres.
- Experience supporting data centre-related projects from planning through execution.
- Ability to communicate at a conversational level in Japanese to liaise with vendors.
Preferred Qualifications & Tools:
- Diploma or higher qualification in IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience using IT Service Management platforms (e.g. Remedy or equivalent).
- Exposure to inventory management systems and/or Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
